About The Tour:
Fes desert tours 3 days start from Fes and travel via the middle Atlas Mountains. Cross the high Atlas Mountains and drive along the Ziz Valley with spectacular sceneries. When we get close to the desert the Ziz valley turns into palm grove oasis. So we will stop for pictures in a panoramic view to picture the oasis, stops are made also in different interesting spots. In the desert explore Merzouga Sahara desert and meet the locals, also enjoy a life time experience in the desert camp and picture the sunset and sunrise. Try local food made upon your arrival, and listen to local music around campfire. Ride camels and possibly 4WD vehicle over the dunes. In the last day travel back to Fes with more stops in the way.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Fez – Ifran – Midelt – Merzouga
Meet at your Hotel/Riad to start our Fes desert tours 3 days. We will make our way through the Middle Atlas mountains and the cedar forest of Azrou. Our fisrt stop will be in Ifrane (Morocco’s Switzerland). Continue to the cedar forest where we might see the Barbarian Apes. After, we cross the Tizi-n-Talghamt pass and drive along the Ziz gorges towards Sahara. We will stop in one of the towns or a village on the way for lunch. Then we continue towards Errachidia and Erfoud. Also, stop in a panoramic view of the huge palm groves oasis over the ziz valley. After that, we proceed via Erfoud until we arrive to Merzouga which is our 3 days Fes desert tour destination. There you will welcomed with a cup of mint tea before you check in to your hotel.
DAY 2: Merzouga Exploring
After breakfast, we will begin a visit to explore the Sahara desert and see the small Berber villages and nomads living around the dunes. In this regard, visit the little Town of Khamlia where the Local people who came from Sudan and other African countries play Saharan Drums. Also, you will see the desert oasis and lake. Also, you will have a short visit to Rissani, the capital of the Alouite Dynasty. Towards the evening back to the hotel where your camels guide will be waiting for you. Start your camel trekking over the sandy edges and scene of the erg-Chebbi. Our 3 days Fes desert tour includes about 40mins or an hour camel trekking over the famous dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will reach the camp to spend the night in an equipped camp. After a traditional Local dinner, you can watch the spectacular Starry sky.
DAY 3 Merzouga – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes
The Sahara desert air is dry and fresh after the dawn. And the Sand dunes border the town of Merzouga. So after breakfast, you hop on the back of your camel for an unforgettable ride in the Sahara Desert back to the village. But if you prefer, you can have a chance to take a 4WD. After reviving up we will resume our 3 days Fes desert Tour. And we will be driving along the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas mountains as we leave the scenes of the desert. So the Fes desert tours 3 days goes through the cedar forest of Azrou and stop to see the monkeys. In addition, it gives you a chance to see Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco.
